On Tuesday 17 May, our Clerks and Members participated in the annual LawRight QLD Legal Walk.
The Legal Walk raises vital funds for LawRight, an independent not-for-profit community legal centre that provides free legal advice to people who cannot afford to pay a private lawyer and are ineligible for legal aid. LawRight plays an essential role in improving access to justice for those who are most in need in our community.
This year, the Legal Walk raised over $130,000 for Magistrates Court services for self-represented litigants, and financial counsellor services for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The Members and Staff of North Quarter Lane Chambers contributed $8,140.60 toward the fundraising total. Chambers is very proud of its continued support of the Legal Walk.
