Tom has a broad civil practice with a focus on commercial matters.
Prior to joining North Quarter Lane, Tom was an Associate to the Honourable Justice Dowsett AM of the Federal Court of Australia.
Tom accepts briefs in administrative, commercial, corporations, intellectual property, mining, professional negligence and property disputes. Tom regularly appears led and unled in proceedings in the Supreme Court of Queensland and District Court of Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia. In addition, Tom has also been briefed in a number of international commercial arbitrations and mining disputes.
Tom has an interest in intellectual property law and holds an LLM from the University of California Berkeley where he studied intellectual property law.
He is presently a sessional academic at the Queensland University of Technology, and a member of Lawright’s pro bono panel, and a member of the Bar Association of Queensland’s Professional Standards and Continuing Professional Development Committees.
Tom has been recognised by Queensland Doyle’s Guide as a Recommended Junior Counsel for Intellectual Property & TMT in 2023 and 2024, and has been ranked as a Leading Junior Counsel for 2025.
