Genevieve was admitted to the profession in 2015 and called to the bar in 2021. She has a general practice with a focus on civil, commercial and regulatory matters.
Since being called to the bar, Genevieve has appeared unled before the Federal Court of Australia in intellectual property and bankruptcy disputes. Genevieve has also acted in construction disputes, including proceedings before the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Genevieve previously worked as an associate and lawyer in national commercial law firms. Her experience includes working on broad range of commercial disputes, as well as matters involving intellectual property and entertainment law. Genevieve has a keen interest in defamation and media law.
Genevieve has also worked as a Senior Legal Officer within the Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General. Genevieve appeared as an advocate for the Department in review hearings of child-related employment decisions. Genevieve also has experience acting for vulnerable adults in matters involving guardianship, child protection, domestic violence, human rights, mental health and criminal law.
