Alex has a general practice focusing on commercial matters.

He has appeared unled in the Supreme Court of Queensland and Federal Court of Australia as well as various intermediate courts.  He has been briefed to advise and appear in matters concerning corporations, trade marks, insolvency, bankruptcy, community title schemes, enforcement actions, contractual matters and ACL claims.  Alex appeared on behalf of the liquidators of Bestjet Pty Ltd in the public examinations of its directors and has also acted in arbitration proceedings regarding infrastructure charges of large mining projects.

Before being called to the Bar, Alex practiced as a solicitor at King & Wood Mallesons where he worked on contractual disputes, class actions, planning & environment and banking matters.  Alex was previously associate to the Hon. Justice D.C. Rangiah of the Federal Court of Australia.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of International Business from Griffith University.  He received the University Medals for Law and International Business as the top graduate in both degrees.  Alex also holds a Bachelor of Civil Law from the University of Oxford, Magdalen College, where he read conflict of laws, commercial remedies, restitution and trusts and international taxation.
